Welcome to the Colonel William Preston Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR). Our chapter was organized over 100 years ago on July 12, 1923. We invite you to browse our website for information regarding who we are, our community activities, our American Revolutionary War Patriots, genealogical research links, information about membership, and more. We hope that you will support our efforts of historic preservation, education, and patriotism in and around Roanoke, Virginia.
Our meetings are normally held on the second Friday of September, October, March, April, and May, and the first Saturday of November, December, January, and February in Roanoke, Virginia. Please contact us for more information about our chapter meeting dates, time, and location.
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote historic preservation efforts, education, and patriotism. We proudly welcomed our one-millionth member in 2019. There are almost 3,000 chapters in the United States and abroad.
